About
I grew up in a single-parent household where my mother instilled in me the values of education, hard work, and faith in the community around us. We were never wealthy, but we had enough—because I had a mother who believed in me and neighbors who reminded me that success comes from discipline and perseverance, not shortcuts or handouts. Those early lessons shaped the foundation of my life and my belief that the American dream is still alive for those willing to work for it.
In school, I found my passion for learning and leadership. I dedicated myself to academics and discovered that the power of ideas and persuasion could change minds and open doors. Through debate and Model United Nations, I not only earned awards but also learned how to listen, think critically, and advocate for what I believe in. Those experiences taught me that policy isn’t just theory—it affects people’s lives, and good leadership can make a real difference.
I carried that drive into college, where I continued to pursue excellence, and it was there that I met the love of my life. Together, we built a partnership grounded in family, faith, and commitment to a future greater than ourselves. That commitment followed me into law school, where I worked hard to achieve my dream of becoming an attorney.
After law school, I was blessed with the opportunity to return home and put my education to work for the people of Michigan. As a partner at Schuitmaker Moraitis Law, I have fought tirelessly to provide quality service and trusted representation to my clients. Every case I’ve taken has been an opportunity to stand beside hardworking people in our community and ensure their voices are heard.
My service has gone beyond the practicing law. I became an active member of the Downtown Development Authority (DDA), working to strengthen local businesses and foster economic growth. I also had the privilege of serving as president of the Van Buren Bar Association, where I worked to promote professionalism, integrity, and leadership in the legal community. These roles allowed me to give back to the state and community that raised me.
Now, I am running for State Senate as a Republican because I believe our values are under threat. Michigan needs leaders who understand what it means to pull yourself up by your bootstraps, to work hard when times are tough, and to never lose faith in the promise of America. I am committed to defending our constitutional freedoms, protecting families, creating jobs, fixing our roads responsibly, and making sure every child has access to a quality education free from distractions.
My journey—from a single-parent household to practicing law, to leadership in my community—is proof that with hard work and determination, the American dream is within reach. I want to take that same grit and determination to Lansing to fight for the people of Michigan, because I know firsthand that success is not handed to us—it’s earned.
